Workshop GPT-store and Artificial Intelligence in Education

On 29 February 2024, the Department of Applied Mathematics and Informatics of the Educational and Research Institute of Natural and Mathematical Sciences, Informatics and Management of the Ushynsky University hosted a master class "GPT-STORE and Artificial Intelligence in Education" at the Laboratory of Artificial Intelligence and Robotic Systems (LARS). The workshop was attended by more than 300 participants, including 32 participants offline.

Nowadays, in the time of rapidly changes in technology, education cannot remain unchanged. Ushynsky University took the responsibility to be a leader in the implementation of innovations by organising a workshop highlighted the importance of integrating AI into the educational process.

The speaker of the masterclass, Viktor Korablov, noted that artificial intelligence opens up endless possibilities for personalised learning, automation of routine tasks, and access to the latest research results and information. The discussion also touched upon the ethical aspects of AI in education, including academic integrity. It is important to understand that AI can be an auxiliary tool, not a replacement for human intelligence and creativity. The participants discussed the prospects of how to ensure that the use of AI promotes academic integrity without undermining the personal development of higher education students and their ability to think independently.

Having been acquainted with the GPT-STORE platform during the workshop, the participants were offered a number of tools and resources that can free up teachers' time for more creative and important tasks. The use of such tools allows teachers to quickly adapt the material to the students` needs and create a flexible educational process. The participants of the workshop (academic staff of the Ushynsky University, students of the Educational and Research Institute of Natural and Mathematical Sciences, Informatics and Management, and all interested persons) had the opportunity to study practical examples of AI application in education.

The worshop ended with a discussion of the prospects of using the GPT-STORE platform to support the educational process, the role of AI in education, with an emphasis on the need to constantly update curricula in accordance with modern technologies, taking into account standards. The participants of the master class (applicants of sp. 014 Secondary education. Informatics, 281 Public Management and Administration, 073 Management, etc.) received certificates of participation from the South Ukrainian Centre for Professional Development of Managers and Specialists in the Socionomic Sphere.
